Florida · Greek pantry, deli counter and catering

Cut to order,
not shrink-wrapped.

Feta sealed in plastic three weeks ago is a different food from feta cut out of the brine while you wait. It is the whole reason a counter exists, and it is most of what we do.

How we work

A Florida shop, permitted and labelled properly

Yiayia's Market LLC is a limited liability company registered in the State of Florida, document number L20000387894, filed in 2020, operating under food permit [FDACS FOOD PERMIT NUMBER].

Two things we take seriously. Allergens: dishes made here commonly contain milk, eggs, wheat, tree nuts, sesame and fish, the kitchen is not free from any allergen, and cross-contact cannot be excluded — so if an allergy is serious, talk to us rather than trusting a description. And unpasteurised cheese: where a cheese is made from raw milk it says so on the label, and anyone pregnant, elderly or immunocompromised should avoid those.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most

Can I taste before buying?

Please do. Feta varies enormously between producers and tasting two is the only way to find the one you actually want. There is no pressure to buy afterwards.

Is the feta pasteurised?

Some are and some are not — it says on the label and we will tell you. If you are pregnant, immunocompromised or elderly, stick to the pasteurised ones.

I have a nut allergy. Is your food safe?

Our kitchen is not allergen-free and cross-contact cannot be ruled out. We will give you the ingredients for anything, but if your allergy is severe please talk to us in person rather than relying on a label.

How much notice do you need for a tray?

At least a day for most things, and weeks around Easter and Christmas when the kitchen books out. Order early rather than hoping.

How many does a tray feed?

We will give you the honest number rather than the flattering one. Running short at a family gathering is the thing people remember, so we would rather you ordered slightly too much.

How old is the olive oil?

We date it, and we will tell you which is this season. Oil two years old is a different product however good the bottle looks.

Looking for something specific?

Ask us — if we do not carry it, we will tell you who does.
